The Hawks have confirmed that they have received a case docket.
This follows the Democratic Alliance laying fraud charges against National Police Commissioner Bheki Cele.
Public Works minister Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde, Public Works Director General Siviwe Dongwana and businessman Roux Shabangu and have also been implicated in a controversial lease deal for new police headquarters.
The Hawks’ Mcintosh Polela says they will now follow internal processes and determine whether further investigations are needed.
