The Robben Island strike has come to an end. This is after National Health Education and Allied Workers' Union had a meeting on Wednesday and came to the decision.
Robben Island workers have been on strike for three weeks for higher wages and time off over Christmas.
Nehawu provincial secretary Luthando Nogcinisa said management have agreed the need to open negotiations on how the wage issue will be addressed.
Minister for Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Western Cape Dr Ivan Meyer said he is happy that the strike is over as Robben Island is a tourist attraction.
