An electrical store owner arrested for illegal possession of copper

The owner of an electrical store at Steenberg in Cape Town was arrested for allegedly selling stolen copper cables .

The copper cable is believed to be belonging to the City of Cape Town.

 Members of anti-metal theft unit The Copperheads and the police's Crime Intelligence Unit raided the premises on Monday.

Unit's Neil Arendse said they seized about 50 meters of copper cable worth about R25 000.

Neil said the man will appear in court today.
