The ANC youth league secretary general Sindiso Magaqa apologised to public enterprise minister Malusi Gibaba.
This was part of a sanction meted out by the ANC national disciplinary committee.
If Magaqa did not apologise then he would have been suspended for three years from the ANC.
However the sanction would only have been implemented if he was found guilty of misconduct within that time.
The sanction would also have applied to his member ship in the youth league.
