DA calls for SABC to appear before the portfolio committee

The Democratic Alliance wants the SABC to appear before Parliament’s communications portfolio committee.

This comes after Minister Dina Pule revealed that the corporation had spent more than 16-million-Rands over the past two years on renting cars.

DA’s Marian Shinn says that in addition, the broadcaster spent more than half-a-million-Rands on shuttle services.

Shinn added that SABC board members were responsible for 60-percent of the shuttle costs.
