The Minerals and Energy Department announced a major fuel price increase today.

The fuel prices will come to effect in April.

The fuel price increase coincides with the fuel levies set out by Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan in his 2012 budget speech.

On the increased prices a litre of unleaded petrol will cost 70 cents more inland and 66 cents more in coastal areas.
