Western Cape Education MEC Donald Grant said he was hopeful that most educators would remain in their jobs during today’s national strike.
The South African Democratic Teachers Union said 13,000 educators will take part in Cosatu marches in Cape Town, Vredenburg and Worcester.
Grant said he hoped teachers would come to their senses to make sure learners are taught.
The MEC added they had a management plan in place if most of the teachers are taking part in the strike today .
