Water crisis in SA
Andiswa Mkosi
22 March 2012
As today marks World Water Day, the Federation of Unions of SA expressed their concern at the latest water crisis facing the country.
It says Acid Mine Draining still is a serious threat to natural water resources unless addressed by government.
Fedusa’s Jacques Hugo says the 225-million-Rand budgeted by National Treasury, is not nearly enough funding for the project.
He says what is needed is a process of desalination to effectively tackle the polluted water.
