The Western Cape Education department confirmed that no major incidents took place during the matric supplementary exams.

Yesterday the last exams were written.

Over 6000 matrics who were not happy with their matric results, applied to rewrite certain subjects.

The departments Millicent Merton said they were happy about the entire process.

She added that the 2012 matric supplementary exams went smoothly and candidates can expect their results by April.

Last year the province received the highest pass rate in the country.
