Western Cape Health MEC Theuns Botha said that service delivery at medical facilities would not suffer despite budgetary restraints.

Botha tabled his department's budget for the 2012/13 financial year in Parliament,
Cape Town
today.

The Department of Health has been allocated the biggest slice of the province's financial pie, with R14.6 billion.

Botha stressed that they would have to stretch their funds.

Botha added that commissioning newly built hospitals in Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha, and refurbishing the
Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital were among his top priorities this year.
