A cyclist injured in an accident

A cyclist is fighting for his life at the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria after he was struck by a minibus taxi on
Libertas Road
near
Pretoria Road
junction in Equestria this morning.

Netcare 911`s Jeffrey Wicks said that the cause of the accident and the series of events leading up to it remain unclear.

Wicks said when paramedics arrived at the scene they found the man in a critical state having sustained severe injuries as a result of the high velocity crash.

Wicks added that he was airlifted to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital by the Netcare1 Aeromedical Helicopter for further treatment.
