Gauteng e-tags sales have soared over the past few days according to the Electronic Tolling Collection consortiums CEO Salahdin Yacoubi.
He added that about 170 000 e-tags were sold in the past few days.
He expect this figure to rise when the project gets underway well over the 500 000 mark to one-million by the end of the month.
It was also announced recently that motorists who do not purchase the e-tags would be charged an additional R1, 75.
