The grade 11 and 12 learners from Umyezo Wama Apile Combined School in Grabouw have arrived safely at the Cape Teaching and Learning Institute in Kuilsriver.

MEC for education in the Western Cape Donald Grant said they now have to begin a process of catching up the work they have lost.

He added that it is the department’s job to ensure that the learners are fully prepared for their exams in June and the final exams.

The department plans to have a satellite campus ready for the learners from the beginning of the third term in Grabouw.

Grant said the department is working together with the national department of public works to try and access erf 295 for a permanent solution, for a high school in Grabouw.
