The city of Cape Town has plans to convert the four-point-five-billion-Rands Cape Town stadium into a commercial hub that will pull in more revenue.
The city’s mayoral committee has decided to approach provincial government to request that restrictions on activity around the stadium be revised.
According to reports, the city wants to build a nightclub, coffee shops, restaurants and sports bars within the stadium.
In 2010, commercial outlets, hiring out of office space and hiring out of parking was banned around the stadium to reduce high noise levels and traffic volumes for residents.
