The department on Monday confirmed that the
owner of the building has decided not to renew the lease agreement.
The centre will be moved to Customs House
in Foreshore.
Departmental spokeswoman Manusha Pillai
says Customs house will only be used as temporary facility.
Pillai added that new applicants for refugee status
will be directed to other centres.
