The Democratic Alliance challenges the former Minister of defence and Military Veterans Lindiwe Sisulu to produce evidence that the two-billion rand VIP jet was above board.
The DA says the minister should show proof that Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan approved the deviation from normal competitive bidding processes required.
DA`s David Maynier says the country should not be spending billions on new jets for the President when many people are suffering.
He added that if Sisulu can produce the documents then the request for a probe by the Public Protector will be dropped.
Meanwhile Lindiwe Sisulu wants to give current Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula the opportunity to review the deal.
She has advised defence secretary Sam Makhudu Gulube to suspend the purchase of luxury presidential jets.
