The Commission investigating the death of 34 Lonmin Marikana miners in August had to stop proceedings today, when the family members were distressed by a video footage.

The family members were provided counseling before the commission could resume.

The video accidentally went on to show officers shooting at demonstrators, when it was supposed to show a build-up of the events leading up to the incident.

The police opened fire on striking mineworkers on August 16th killing 34 people and wounding another 78.

The family representatives will now view video footage of the event in a private room where councilors are available.
