The Police Service has released a statement stressing that former crime intelligence head Richard Mdluli remains suspended.

This follows Mdluli’s lawyer’s pronouncement that his client wants his old job back after being acquitted of the murder 13-years ago of love rival Oupa Ramokgibe.

The acting head of Police Corporate Communication Phuti Setati says the ruling has no bearing on the internal disciplinary process in progress.

Mdluli still faces allegations of fraud and corruption regarding the use of money in a police slush fund.
