The search for a missing three-year-old boy Simoxile Linoga who went missing in Thembalethu is still continuing.

The boy went missing while playing near his home in Zone 5 last week.

He was wearing a blue t-shirt, takkies and black pants at the time of his disappearance.

Western Cape Social Development has called on social workers to investigate neglect by the boys’ parents.

The department’s spokesperson Melany Kuhn adds that the Minister of Social development in the Western Cape Alberts Frits has also asked social workers that during their assessment, the need to be ascertaining whether or not neglect played a roll in this particular case.

Kuhn adds that this time of the year, they often find that children go missing and very often neglect plays a hug role.

There is an appeal to parents that they need to be aware of where their children are and who they are with at all time.
