A woman hospitalised after being attacked by a rhino

A 24 year-old woman was hospitalised after being attacked by a rhino at a Game Park in Rooddepoort.

It is alleged that the rhino charged at the lady and struck her in the chest with the horn.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when paramedics arrived at the scene the woman was in a serious condition.

Botha said she was treated at the scene before being rushed to the Netcare Krugersdorp hospital for further care.
