Cope YM-Eskom tariffs hike is a rip-off

The Public Hearings on Eskom application from Nersa to increase tarrifs by 16% in the next five years are continuing.

The Congress of the People Youth Movement said South Africans are still dealing with e-tolls and now the 16% tarrifs increase is rip off.

Abel Rangata said recent reports have revealed that South Africans are too much in debts with Gauteng mostly affected yet the state institutions want to compound the situation even worse than it currently is.

Rangata added that is the National Energy Regulator of South Africa does approve this proposal, South Africans will remain indebted to Eskom because they can not afford those high tarrifs.
