Fires destroyed shacks in Cape Town

A fire broke out in W section Informal Settlements in Khayelitsha this morning.

About 700 people were left homeless when the fire destroyed over 100 shacks in the area.
Cape Town firefighters battled to contain the blazes, due to high speed wind which fuelled the fire.
Disaster Risk Management Centre Spokesperson Wilfred Johannes-Solomons said there were no injured people reported and the cause of the fire is not known.

Johannes-Solomons further another fire broke out in Du Noon this morning.

Over hundred people were left homeless.
