The Congress of the People Youth Movement has saluted Minister in the Presidency Trevor Manuel for advocating for professional civil service.

Manuel was speaking at a Government Leadership Summit which was held in Pretoria.

Manuel said that government blame the apartheid government for its failures.

COPEYM Secretary General Abel Rangata said public servants should be accountable to taxpayers.

“We are glad that he is saying this to encourage people, not pursue the interest of their political organisation in different spheres in government, but to ensure that they deliver quantitative service that will benefit our community at large” Rangata added.
