The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape has welcomed the move by provincial police commissioner Arno Lamoer to deploy more police officers to crime hot spots in the province.

While addressing the Provincial Legislature this week he said for the next six months police will pay special attention to six police stations these include Gugulethu, Nyanga, Philippi, Khayelitsha, Lingulethu and Harare.

ACDP Provincial Spokesperson Ferlon Christians said the province cannot boast about areas being murder capitals and the amount of killings that are facing this province.

“We are definitely supporting the deployment of these officers and we think that is the way to go to have visible policing in the areas will definitely bring crime down,” Christians added.
