Another police officer died in the Western Cape

The Western Cape Police have confirmed that a third police officer died last night, the 38-year-old Constable Thandile Gantsho was part of the shootout which took place in Philippi last week. 

Three police officers came under attack while they were busy with an operation in Siqala Informal Settlement, whereby two officers died and one was rushed to hospital.

Constable Gantsho succumbed to her injuries last night.  Police Spokesperson Thembinkosi Kinana said constable Gontsho has severed the SAPS for right years.

“The Western Cape Police would like to send condolences to the family of the deceased Police officer as well as the colleagues who worked with her all the years” Kinana added.

Kinana said our message to the criminals is very clear they can run but we shall find them, jus as we have done in the past.
