The Department of Home Affairs said
it is fighting hard to root out corruption within the department.
Director General of the department
Mkuseli Apleni said they have introduced a new biometric capturing system to
intensify its fight on corruption.
Apleni said as a department we are
fighting hard the surge of corruption and therefore we have had to implement
systems which are able to uniquely identify who is exactly doing this.
“The new system we have implemented
in the department requires you to use your fingerprint to access any computer
and as soon as you move off the computer it switches off immediately” Apleni added.
Mkuseli Apleni emphasised that the
department has been successful in dealing with the people who are committing
fraud within the department.
