The Department of Labour is
investigating a tragic incident whereby a man fell into an underground petrol
tank while he was doing routine maintenance a few weeks ago at a Boksburg
filing station.
The departments Mishack Magakwe said
the owner of the station should be prosecuted because clearly, neglect plays a
big part in this case.
Magakwe said an inquiry has been set
up in terms of section 30 of occupational act.
He added that if found that the
incident happened because of negligence then prosecution will be recommended.
