Gauteng Police investigates a case of attempted murder

Gauteng Police are investigating a case of attempted murder following a shooting incident on the M1 highway near Joe Slovo this afternoon. 

Police Spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini said a suspect who is believed to be involved in a series of incidents of taxi violence in the area was shot and wounded in the shoot-out. 

Dlamini said the members spotted a minibus taxi in Pretoria when they tried to stop the vehicle it drove away and there was a chase on the highway.

“When the suspect tried to jump out of the vehicle, one was shot in the up leg and the other managed to escape,” Dlamini added.
