The National Sea Rescue Institute is searching for a man who is believed to have been swept off the rocks by a wave at Three Anchor Bay.

Police and NSRI Table Bay were dispatched to the scene and when they arrived they found no sign of the missing man and no sign of eyewitnesses to tell them exactly what happened.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the man was reportedly to have fallen into the water at Sea Point Promenade.

Lambinon added that despite an extensive search on Thursday no sign of the man could be found and police are investigating.
