Fawu National Fishing Sector Bargaining Conference underway in Cape Town

The Food and Allied Workers Union is holding the National Fishing Sector Bargaining Conference on the 14th and 15th November in Cape Town at the Reitz Hotel.

The conference will be addressed by the Chief Executive Officers of the big four fishing companies/groups and by the Ministers of Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant, and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Tina Joemat-Peterson on the 15th November 2013.

Fawu Spokesperson Katishi Masemola said a decision will be taken in terms of deciding about a national protest early next year.

Masemola added that FAWU will be declaring dispute with those companies resisting to be part of the envisaged bargaining dispensation and waging strike action to force them into the new bargaining arrangement.
