Minister of Home Affairs Naledi
Pandor on Thursday said South Africans still tend to view immigration as
negative rather then strategic.
She made this comment last night
during a debate between leading policy makers and business people on whether South
Africa should open or
close its doors to skilled immigrants.
Minister Pandor said many South
African view migrants as a threat to their jobs or business opportunities and
more needs to be done to ensure that this changes.
Pandor added that there should a strategy to target
skills because Africans need each other and there is a need to encourage job
creation and attract skills.
