Home Affairs will be open on Election Day

The Department of Home Affairs has announced that it will be ready to deliver services on the 07th of May election day.  Home Affairs offices will be opened across the country to assist citizens with the necessary enabling documents for voting.

Departmental Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said that the new Smart ID cards can be used to vote. 

Mamoepa added that in this regard the department will issue citizens who may require such enabling documents as temporary identity certificates and afford citizens the opportunity to collect their uncollected green coded ID books and Smart ID cards an opportunity to do so while also issuing letters of confirmation of identity.

“All Home Affairs officials who will be working on Wednesday 7 May, have been afforded an opportunity alongside all other essential services  to cast special votes across the country to enable them  to serve the citizenry to the best of their ability on voting day” said Mamoepa
