The African Christian Democratic Party in
the Western says immediate disciplinary action needs to be taken against those
people who are defrauding pensioners of their grant money.
Western Cape MEC of Social Development
Albert Frtiz on Thursday said his department has received numerous complaints
about pensioners being defrauded with little assistance from the South African
Social Security Agency.
ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians
said the pensioners do not need this kind of treatment and the authorities need
to act urgently.
Christians said communities go poor because
elderly people are the breadwinner in most families.
