The Treatment Action Campaign has welcomed the release of 127 activitsts and community healthcare workers who were arrested following a peaceful sit in.

TAC’s Anele Yawa said instead of dealing with the collapsing health system in the Free State the province is rather cracking down on peaceful campaigners for the right to health.

“We welcome the release of our comrades by the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court.

We also respect the conditions which were laid by the Magistrates that they must not engage themselves to any illegal gathering, however that does not mean that when ever TAC is having a legal gathering or a march, they cannot be involved on that as long as that gathering is legal.”  Yawa added.
