Western Cape MEC of Public Transport Donald Grant has condemned in the strongest possible terms recent acts of vandalism on Metrorail infrastructure.

This as signal cables between Nyanga, Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s Plain were vandalised on Wednesday.
MEC Grant said the acts of these criminals threatened the provision of reliable public transport and has threatened the safety of commuters.

Ministerial Spokesperson Siphesihle Dube said minster Grant joined regional manager Richard Walker in condemning the acts and asking for cooperation from the community to ensure that these criminals are brought to book and they face consequences of their actions

Dube added that in the interim MEC Grant has been very complimentary of the role the Golden Arrow Bus Services and the City have played in easing the burden for communities and ensuring that they all get safely home.
