Neasa lock-out continues

The National Employers Association of South Africa said it will continue with the worker lock-out of National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa.

This is after Numsa today withdrew its application at the Labour Court against Neasa.

This follows Neasa not signing the wage agreement to end the five-week prolonged strike in the engineering sector which resulted in over 200 000 Numsa members embarking on a strike for better wages.

Neasa Spokesperson Sya-Van Der Walt-Potgiter said the reason for the lock-out is because Neasa’s demands have not been considered during the recent industry negotiations.
