The Congress of South African Trade Union has expressed its shock at the death of union leader in the Free State Mbuyiselo Phajana Mnguni.

Cosatu Spokesperson Patrick Craven in a statement said Mnguni was reported missing on the 23rd of October this year and his body was discovered at the end of last month.

Police are now suspecting foul play and an investigation is underway.

“Yet another example of the problem with crime in this country we obviously don’t know the full circumstances but it’s clearly intolerable that we are loosing so many significance lives through crime.

We’re sending our message of condolences to his family, "Craven added.
