ANC calls on WCED to put more effort to rural schools

The African National Congress in the Western Cape has again raised its concerns regarding learners who live in poor communities with inferior services. 

This as schools reopens for the 2015 academic year. 

The Western Cape Department of Education has currently enrolled 35 535 Grade R learners and 109 000 Grade 1 learners.

ANC’s Theo Olivier said we believe that all systems are in place and the ANC wishes the learners all the best for this year, we also call for the government to give more effort in schools in rural areas.

He aadded that support these rural school so that they can also benefit and reap the fruits that they will get this year, and make sure Western Cape returns to its number one spot academically.

“We also encourage students to work very hard and be focus this year.” he added.
