The Congress of South African Trade Union in the Western Cape said it is sadden that the Mayor of Cape Town Patricia de Lille has rejected its offer to help end the bus strike.

This as some MyCiti bus drivers have been on strike for about a week due to them demanding to be part of a union.

Cosatu’s Tony Ehrenreich said: “Clearly the city sees the attempt of restoring the union of them finding the suited way to restore the services to commuters.”

Ehrenreich continues to say: “What we got to do is ensure an agreement that the city is a service provider that adherence to the law is obligated and that within a large extent remove many of the protest action that we’ve seen.”
