The community of Hout Bay will receive a
state of the art health facility.
The Western Cape Department of Health says
the Hout Bay Valley is being serviced
by two separate health facilities which neither of them are able to cope with
the growing needs the community of Hout Bay .
Ministerial Spokesperson Siviwe Gwarube
said any development on the site would need to be done in such a way as to
preserve the current recreation activities taking place in the area.
Gwarube said the new facilities that we
will bring in to the public community will provide a comprehensive health
package for both children and adults under one roof.
“Things like paediatric services, emergency
services, ARV treatment, TB treatment, women and productive health treatment.
In addition, this new CBC will have a full time dentist and oral hygienist and
will offer a wild range of rehabilitation services as well” Gwarube added.
Also the fact that will now be accessible
to all residents of the Hout Bay valley will allow
for much needed social inclusion in this community Gwarhube added.
