Many paid tribute to legendary musician Zayn Adam during his funeral held in Woodstock earlier today. Adam died in hospital on Sunday after suffering a heartache last week.
His brother Omar Adams described
him as a dedicated man who was always on the go and willing to help everybody.
“We feel lost and shocked at his death because I spoke to him last night in hospital and he said to me I will be going home tomorrow” Omar Adams added.
Meanwhile musician Allister
Isabelle said Adams death is a huge loss to the industry. Isabelle said Adams
was a great human being who taught people about how to embrace life and that he
has left a great legacy.
Isabelle said they have just
revamped the Pacific Express band that he was part of and this reminds us once
again what a void without Zayn here today, and it reminds us of the incredible
journey that we have to do.
Also the Western Cape
Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport said Adams played an important role in
cultivating and nurturing a truly Cape culture.
In a statement the department
continued by saying that he was a true Western Cape icon who brought people
together through music. Ministerial Spokesperson Helen Rossouw said Zayn was
the hardest working musician in the country with a career that span over
50-years.
