The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape has welcomed the historic agreement between Mitchells Plain and Isiqalo informal settlement.

ACDP Leader Ferlon Christians said the agreement related to how the two communities would resolve differences relating to service delivery protests.

Christians said the agreement relates to how the two communities would resolve differences relating to service delivery protests.

Christians said it was announced yesterday, 24 March 2015, during a press briefing. Mitchells Plain residents were heavily affected by ongoing protests made by the Isiqhalo informal settlement members who were blockading the Jakes Gerwel Drive.

Christians said Mitchells Plain residents were held hostage and many could not travel to places of employment.

Christians urges all community leaders to use the correct channels when lodging service delivery grievances.

He further calls on community leaders from Mitchells Plain and the Isiqhalo informal settlement to engage the mayor of the City of Cape Town to furnish them with a strategic plan on how these service delivery issues will be dealt with.
