The African Christian Democratic Party has raised its concern regarding the delays in applying for an extension for the time to amend sections of the Sexual Offences Act
The ACDP has also raised concerns of delays in Executive tabling amending legislation.

ACDP MP Steve Swart said these delays places a massive strain on the courts.

Swart says we are concerned that it took almost two months before it got to the constitutional court, giving it only two days to deal with the matter.

We are also concerned at the cabinet minister dealing with these acts fourteen months before he brought it to parliament following the constitutional court ruling and this is an issue that must be dealt with to avoid placing the constitutional court under pressure to deal with these issues in a short time, Swart added.
