Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to depart for the People’s Republic of China

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will depart later today for the People’s Republic of China where he will lead a South African delegation on an official visit from the 13-17 July 2015.

The Deputy President’s delegation will include Minister Lynn Brown, Blade Nzimande, Deputy Ministers Nomaindia Mfeketo, Thembi Majola, Mcebisi Jonas, Mwandile Masina, senior government officials, business and state owned enterprises executives.

Deputy President’s spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said the visit will focus on economic and trade matters and, specifically, on how state-owned enterprises can be utilised to promote economic growth and address challenges of poverty and unemployment.

Accordingly Deputy President Ramaphosa will focus on the People’s Republic of China state-owned enterprises and how South Africa could utilise the Chinese model its own re-industrialisation process.
