Meanwhile, the Congress of the People says it welcomes the reopening of the Roodeport Primary School.

COPE’s spokesperson Dennis Bloem says, the closure of the school occurred in an emotionally charged atmosphere and did not account the learner’s best interest.

He says, COPE believes that nothing should ever happen which compromises the constitutional guarantee that every child will have abn education.

Bloem says we don’t think that the Premier and his MEC were thinking of the future of the children.

“We commend the work undertaken by the task team. We are very much delighted at the mediation it undertook as allowing the school to reopen” he concluded.
