Eskom says the power system is
currently stable and, as a result, no load shedding will be implemented.
The parastatal says the
stability of the system has enabled technicians to carry out the requisite
maintenance of the power generating units.
It says its maintenance plan
is aimed at increasing the reliability of its plant, and this will in turn
increase its operating reserves and stabilise the grid.
“Eskom actually is not a load shedding
company. We do not plan load shedding. We do not want to implement load shedding.
It only happens when there is more demand than supply.” Eskom spokesperson
Khulu Phasiwe said.
