The Democratic Alliance Shadow
Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Postal Services, Cameron Mackenzie
says, on Monday he laid criminal charges at the Cape Town Central Police
Station against the previous Directors of the South African Post Office for,
among other crimes, their failure to exercise their fiduciary duties.
Mackenzie says “To think that
as a deployed cadre you can take a seat on the board of the state owned company
and continue to do a directive speed without actually discharging your duties
all being competent to serve as a director, I think you have another thing
coming.
He says “I think these charges
send back a message to potential director to state owned companies that you
need to be competent in order to do that job.”
