Accident in Free State claiming the lives of six people

A total of six people were killed in a collision that occurred on the R37 between Heilbron and Sasolburg in the Free State. The collision occurred late last night and involved only two light motor vehicles.

According to eye witnesses, one of the vehicles allegedly swerved onto the oncoming lane and then collided head on with the other vehicle.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that amongst the deceased patients was a seven-year-old boy and a teenage girl of about 14”, said ER24 Spokesperson Pieter Rossouw.

 “One person survived the collision - a pregnant woman, ER24 paramedics treated and transported the woman to Sasolburg Provincial Hospital for further treatment”, He concluded.
