“The Democratic Alliance says it welcomes the 46% year-on year decrease
of road deaths for the Easter Weekend period, as compared to the same period
for 2015.
"Furthermore we thank motorists and traffic law enforcement alike for their efforts in this
holiday season to reduce the carnage on the roads and ensuring that South
African’s are safer." Dlangisa adds.
He concluded that "Going forward the true test will be for
Minister Peters and her department to sustain the decrease of road deaths as
previous cases have shown the number of road deaths remained high in periods surrounding
holidays.”
