Western Cape police are investigating the rape of a Stellenbosch University student that allegedly occurred outside one of the campus residences, a report said today.

The attack had apparently happened sometime in February outside the all-women residence, Harmonie, in the early hours of the morning.

The university confirmed that a female student had been examined and treated by a district surgeon and has now been offered support by the institution.
